カテゴリー…一応ラブストーリーにしとく。

私はもう１つ、日本語のブログを持っていて、ときどきそっちにも映画のことを書きます。それで、この映画『ピアニスト』のことをどっちに書こうかと考えました。さて、自然と書き始めたのは英語だったので、こっちに書くことにします。

フランス映画でして、"pianiste"は女性名詞なのですが、英語では、"The Female（女性） Piano Teacher"ではなく、"The Piano Teacher" のようです。

ふーむ、実は、もしいわゆる人気映画が好きな人にはこの映画はお勧めできません。まさにフランス映画だからです。

粗筋を説明いたしましょう。

エリカは有名な音楽院の優秀なピアノ教師です。40歳前後で、母親と暮らしています。母親はエリカがコンサートピアニストになることが念願としています。今となってはかないそうもないことですが、母親は諦めていません。娘が小さい頃から、ピアノ以外のことを許してきませんでした。エリカは男性とsexualな関係を持ったことがありません。彼女は非常に抑圧されて育ったため、sexualにabnormalな嗜好を持つようになっていました。

そこへ、ワルターという超美形の若者が現れます。彼はピアニストとしてエリカを尊敬し、彼女に求愛します。彼はピアノの才能があり、エリカの気を引くために、工学の勉強をやめて彼女の個人授業に臨みます。

はじめエリカは戸惑いますが、彼を愛するようになり、自分の秘密…sexual嗜好を彼に伝える決心をします。彼女はそれについて長い手紙を書き、彼に渡します。彼は、彼女の部屋で、彼女を前に、ついにそれを読みます…。
待て次号！

ここまで読んだあなたなら、レンタルビデオ屋に行ってこの映画見るべきです。

ラストシーンの彼女の顔が忘れられません…。
女優さん、イザベル・ユペール、びっくりするほどすごいです。

監督のミヒャエル・ハネケが言うように、まさにラブストーリーのパロディだと思います。
でも、私には笑えません。エリカに同情してしまうので…。痛い…。

もし彼女があんなabnormalなsexual嗜好を持っていなかったとしても、あんな美形な若者に迫られたらおかしくもなります。この映画のブノワ・マジメルはうつくすぃーーーー過ぎます！

トイレでの有名なシーン…エリカが、自分の生徒にひどいことをしてしまった後、個室の一つに駆け込みます…ワルターが来ます…エリカがいるとわかっています…彼はその個室のドアに飛びついて、鍵を開けてしまいます…彼はエリカを引っ張り出し、激しくキスします。
このシーンはロマンティックなのですが…エリカが「待って！」というまでは…。
（ところで、私はこの映画を日本語吹き替え版で見ました。エリカの声優さんは…氾文雀！懐かしいな。とか言うと歳がばれますが。

とにかく、私はこの話をもっと、たとえばなぜワルターはエリカを愛するか、を理解したいと思いました。で、原作にトライしました…。映画よりもっと難しかったです…。
原作はドイツ語なので、もちろん日本語訳を読みました。
でも…私には超難しかったのです。読み続けるのが（苦）痛い。私は、何ページか飛ばしました…そして、どうにか最終ページにたどり着き。なんでワルターがエリカを愛するかわかったような気がします。確かではないですが、彼は、彼の今後の人生にとってよい経験になると思ったようです？

映画のパンフには、映画についての色んな感想が載っていました。私は精神科医の斎藤先生に同意かな。許しもなく一部翻訳を試みる：　（日本語原文ママ）

この物語に教訓や風刺はない。復讐もカタルシスもない。トラウマとその治癒もない。あるのは、リアルで痛い必然性だけ。つまるところ僕らは、ところどころで笑い声を上げながら、この悲喜劇にひたすら見入るしかないのかもしれない。確実に言えることは、それがまぎれもなく映画的な体験であり、それが無意味なまでに充実しているということだけだ。しかし、あえて最後に問おう。それ以上、何を映画に望むというのか？
（ここだけ、日本語浮くなー。ほかの日本語が不自然なので（笑））

ふーむ、もしかすると私は斎藤先生の言いたいことを理解してないかもね…。

ええと、私が『ピアニスト』を見た頃に、天才ピアニストが主役の人気漫画『のだめカンタービレ』最新刊を読みました。ふーむ、違う世界…ですが、どちらの登場人物も厳しいプロの音楽の世界で苦しんでおりようですな。

てなとこで。全部で書くのに３時間かそれ以上かかったよ。痛い…。

I dare to classify this entry into Love Stories ...

I have one more blog in Japanese, and I sometimes write about movies in it, too. So I wondered in which blog I should write about the movie, "La Pianiste." Well, I just started writing in English automatically, so I'll write here.

It's a French movie, and it seems to be called "The Piano Teacher" in English, not "The Female Piano Teacher," even though the word "pianiste" is feminine.

Hmmm ... actually, I don't recommend you watch the movie if you like so-called popular movies. This is the very French movie.

Let me explain the story line.

Erika is an excellent piano teacher at a famous music college. She is around forty, and lives with her mother. Her mother has strongly wanted her to be a concert pianist. It seems impossible now, but she can't give up. She hasn't let her daughter do anything but play the piano since she was a girl. Erika has never had a sexual relationship with a man. She has grown up extremely suppressed, which has made her get abnormal sexual preference.

Then a very beautiful young man, Walter, appears. He looked up to Erika as a pianist, and romantically pursues her. He is talented in the piano, and he stops his study at a college of technology and takes Erika's private piano lessons so that he can attract her attention.

Erika gets flustered at first, but she comes to love him and she decides to tell him her secret ... her sexual preference. She writes about it in a long letter, and gives it to Walter. He finally reads it in front of her in her room ....
What happens next!

If you've read so far, YOU SHOULD go to a video rental shop and watch it!

I can't forget her face in the last scene ...
Isabelle Huppert, the actress, is really surprisingly great.

It's exactly a parody of love stories as the director, Michael Haneke, said.
I can't laugh, though, since I feel compassion for Erika. Painful ...

If she didn't have such abnormal sexual preference, she would be mad pursued by such a beautiful young man ... Benoit Magimel in this movie is toooooo beautiful!

The famous scene in the restroom ... Erika runs into one of the cubicles after she did a terrible thing to her student ... Walter comes ... He knows Erika is there ... He jumps onto the cubicle's door and unlocked it ... He drags out Erika and kisses her forcefully.
This scene is romantic ... until Erika says, "Wait!"
(BTW, I watched the movie in the Japanese-dubbed version. Erika's voice actor is ... Han Bung Jak(? How do you spell in English? ...) ! That brings back some memories, which lets you know my age ...

Anyway I wanted to understand the story more about, for example, why Walter loves Erika. So I tried to read the original book ... It was more difficult than the movie ... The original is written in German, so of course I read one in Japanese.
But ... so difficult for me. So painful to keep reading. I ... skipped some pages, ... and barely got to the last page. I suppose I got the answer why Walter loves Erika. I'm not sure, but it seems that he thinks it'll be a good experience for his life in the future.

In the movie brochure, there are many different comments about the movie. I think I agree with Mr. Saito, psychiatrist, who says (I try to translate a part of it without permission ...) :
There is no lesson or irony in this story. No revenge or catharsis. No trauma or healing of it. It has just the realistic and painful inevitability. We might have no choice but to sit and watch the tragicomedy laughing occasionary. I can definitely say it's exactly what we can experience through movies and it's really fruitful meaninglessly. I dare to ask, however. What else do you want to get through movies?
(Sorry for my awkward and possibly wrong English ...)

Hmmm ... I might not understand what Mr. Saito really wants to say ...

Well, around the time when I watched "La Pianiste", I read the latest book of "Nodame Cantabile," a popular comic featuring a girl who's a genius piano player. Hmmm ... different worlds, but both characters seem to be suffering in the tough proffesional music world!

That's all for today. It took me about 3 hours or more totally to write today's entry. Painful...

５ヶ月も記事を書いていませんでした。…しばらくの間は、もっと頻繁に更新できると思います、会社を辞めたので…。英語力を必要とする仕事を辞めてしまいました…。モッタイナイーーー(>_<)　辞めた理由はいくつかありますが、ここでは触れないつもりです。

さて、今日のタイトルは『それはちょっと違うと思う』です。ここでの『それ』とは、『ペンギンリーダーズのようなGR本の訳を探す』ことです。

『日本語訳』『和訳』と『ペンギンリーダーズ』のような単語で日本語でグーグル検索してこのブログにやってくる方がいらっしゃいます。そういう本の訳、ここになくてごめんね！（勝手にそんなもの載せたら、法律違反になるよね…）

ふむぅ。私はGR本の訳を読むのはちょっと違うと思います。というのも、GR本を読む目的は、辞書なしで外国語で読むことだからです。

それについては、前回の記事で書きました。以下がそうです。

ペンギンリーダーズをご存知ですか？　段階別読本（略してGR）シリーズの一つです。GRをご存知ですか？　それは英語が母国語でない人向けの本です。段階分けしてあって、低い段階の本ほどやさしい英語で書いてあります。そのような本を読む目的は、辞書や訳すことなしたくさん読むことにあります。やさしい英語の本をたくさん読むことは大事だと言われています。そのためには、自分の英語レベルに最もあった段階を選びましょう。

もし意味を考えるために何度も読むのを中断しないといけないのなら、その段階は合っていません。急がずに！　低めの段階に行って、たくさん読みましょう。それから、すぐ上の段階に行けるでしょう。

でももしかすると、訳を探している人は、宿題を片付けるためにしかたなく読んでしかたなくそうしてのかもしれませんね。もしそうなら、理解できます…。

さて、今回の記事を書くのにとても時間が掛かっています。なぜなら、最近そんなに英語を書いていなかったからです…。（私の、英語を必要とする仕事って何だったんですかねぇ？）

I haven't made any entry for 5 months .... I think I'll be able to update more often for a while because I left my company .... I quit the job that requires English skills .... MOTTAINAI --- (>_<) There're some reasons for leaving. I'm not going to refer them here, though.

Well, today's title is "I don't think it's a very good idea." "It" here is ... "Looking for translations for GR books such as Penguin Readers."

There are some peole who google with words such as "translation" and "Penguin Readers" in Japanese and visit this weblog. I'm sorry there's no traslation here for such books! (It's against the law to post such translation here without permission ... )

Hmmm. I don't think it's a good idea to read translations of GR books because the purpose of reading them is to read in a foreign language without a dictionary.

I wrote about that in the last entry. The following is that.

Do you know Penguin Readers? It's one of graded reader books series. Do you know them? They are books for those whose native language isn't English. The books are "graded," and the lower graded books are written in plainer English. The purpose of reading those books is to read a lot without a dictionary or translating. It is said that reading a lot of plain English books is important. So you should choose the best grade that fits your English level.

If you often have to stop reading to think about the meaning, the book's grade doesn't fit. Don't hurry! You should go to the lower grade and read a lot. Then you can go up to the higher grade soon.

Maybe, however, those who are looking for translations are doing so because they have to do their homework and have no choice. If so, I can understand that ....

Well, it's taken me a lot of time to write this entry because I haven't written so much English lately .... (Was there anything good to do my last job requiring English?)

The Horse Whisperer(1998) モンタナの風に抱かれて

ごぶさたです。誰かいます？（笑）
さて、最近ペンギンリーダーズでホース・ウィスパラー（直訳は『馬に囁く人』、映画の日本語タイトル『モンタナの風に抱かれて』）を読みました。とても良かったので、ロバートレッドフォードが監督・出演したその映画を見ました。ラブ･ストーリーというカテゴリーは合わないかもしれませんが、私はこの物語のラブ･ストーリーの面が好きなので、そうします。

ペンギンリーダーズをご存知ですか？　段階別読本（略してGR）シリーズの一つです。GRをご存知ですか？　それは英語が母国語でない人向けの本です。段階分けしてあって、低い段階の本ほどやさしい英語で書いてあります。そのような本を読む目的は、辞書や訳すことなしたくさん読むことにあります。やさしい英語の本をたくさん読むことは大事だと言われています。そのためには、自分の英語レベルに最もあった段階を選びましょう。もし意味を考えるために何度も読むのを中断しないといけないのなら、その段階は合っていません。急がずに！　低めの段階に行って、たくさん読みましょう。それから、すぐ上の段階に行けるでしょう。

ええと、私は出版社の営業ではありません。今までに約10冊のGR本を読みました。いくつかはペンギンリーダーズのものではありませんが、私はペンギンリーダーズが一番好きです。話がおもしろいです。

さて、ホース・ウィスパラーについて話します。

ニューヨークにある家族がいました。父母と12歳の娘、グレースです。母のアニーは有名な雑誌の編集長で、多忙です。娘とあまり話す時間が持てず、最近、関係はうまく行っていません。母と娘は乗馬をします。ある日、グレーズは、雪に覆われた山で彼女の馬、ピルグリムに乗っていました。友達と、その馬も一緒でした。そのとき、彼らはトラックとの事故を起こします。グレースはひどい怪我をして、片足を切断。友達とその馬は死にました。そしてやはりひどい怪我を負ったピルグリムは、正気を失ってしまいました。誰も信じなくなってしまいます。

グレースの体は回復しましたが、心は傷ついたまま。ある日彼女はピルグリムに会いに行き、正気を失って暴れるピルグリムを見てショックを受けます。自分を責め、さらに傷ついてしまいます。

アニーは娘と、ピルグリムも、助けたいと思いました。彼らの苦しみは繋がっているのです。雑誌で、アニーはホース・ウィスパラーと呼ばれる人たちを知ります。彼らは、馬の感情を理解することができるのです。アニーは雑誌に載っていた男に連絡を取ります。トム・ブッカー。彼は断ります。すでに馬のクリニックは閉じ、故郷のモンタナに帰っていました。
しかしアニーは一度決めたことは実行する女性でした。自分の回りのことは全て彼女が決めるのです。夫のロバートは反対しましたが、アニーはすでに全て準備していました。仕事は休みを取り、トムの家の近くに場所を借り、グレースとピルグリムを乗せてそこに向かいました。トムに診てもらうために。

これが物語の導入部分です…。
あらすじのほとんどは、映画と、本で、一緒です。トムはアニーの依頼を引き受け、馬だけでなく母娘をも助けようとします。彼らはみんな苦しみ、繋がっていたからです。ピルグリムとグレースは、トムや、トムの兄の家族、そしてモンタナの自然に囲まれて、回復していきます。アニーはグレースと本音で話し合い、母娘の仲も取り戻します。

でも、実はラストが違うのです。定かではありませんが、いくつか理由があるのかもしれません。一つには、本でのとてもショッキングなトムの運命があるのかもしれません。

ですが私は映画より本の方がずっと好きです。（私が読んだのは、ペンギンリーダーズですが、やさしい英語で書き直されたというだけで、話は原作と一緒です）

映画では、モンタナのすばらしい自然と馬の美しさがフォーカスされているのだと思います。美しいと思いました。でも…私はトムとアニーの恋愛関係の描写に満足していません。特に、映画ではアニーが全然魅力的じゃありません！

その女優さん…クリスティン・スコット・トーマス…『イングリッシュ・ペイシェント』のキレイな女性ですよね？　ホース・ウィスパラーで彼女を見たとき、がっかりしてしまいました。

そして、トム・ブッカー。トムは、誰からも愛される男性です。特に女性から。男らしいけどやさしくて、ウィットに富んだ愛すべき人物。私はその役はロバート･レッドフォードに合っていると思いました。歳は取りすぎでしたが。（もしかするとこの役は、彼がスパイゲームで演じた役に少し似ているかも。やはりウィットに富んだスパイ。その役もかっこいいです。）

でも…。本では、トムはアニーに一目ぼれします。一つには、彼女の勇敢な、断固した行動（彼に会うため、７つの州を独力で運転してきたという）にほれたというのもあります。トムはそんな女性が好きなんです。彼らが、互いに思いを寄せていると知るまで、少し時間が掛かります。トムは自分に言い聞かせます、「彼女にほれちゃだめだ。彼女は人妻だ」、そして悩みますが、彼女のことを考え、彼女に話しかけずにはいられません。そんな姿が彼をよりラブリーに見せます…。

そんな描写が映画には欠けています。アニーが先にトムに恋したように見えます。アニーは映画では全然魅力的でないので、それが理由かもしれませんが…。

えーと、もちろん、物語のメインテーマは、馬と人との信頼です！　トムはその象徴のような存在です。彼は、いつも彼の最高の「信頼という贈り物」を馬に与えます。映画でも本でも、そんなシーンがあります。

映画でのシーンは、ピルグリムが自主的に戻ってくるのを、トムが待つところ。トムは草原で、何時間もただ待ちます。日が沈みかけ、とうとうピルグリムは彼のところに歩いてきて、いっしょに家に戻るのです。美しいシーンです。

本でのシーンは…もちろん、トムが馬への信頼を示すシーンはいくつもあるのですが、その一つは本当に…トムらしくて。そのシーンを説明する言葉が見つかりません。彼の存在は、まぶしすぎます。

ある歌が私の頭の中でいやにこの話とマッチします。その歌は英国のバンドXTCの『バーニング・ウィズ・オプティミズムズ・フレイムズ』です。なんでかわかりませんが。本を読んでいたとき、いつもアルバム『ブラック・シー』を聞いていました。トムの輝きと、そのフレイム（炎）が一致したのかねぇ。

物語のラストについては書きません。映画と本のどちらを先に見たらいいのかはわかりませんねぇ…。

原作は私にはまだ難しすぎるのですが、いつか読みたいと思います。（実はもう買った…）

おっと、一つ書き忘れたことが。アニーの夫のロバート、奥さんがほかの男と恋に落ちてしまうわけですが、その役をやったのはサム・ニール！　ふーむ、そんな役が彼には似あうように思われ。『ピアノ・レッスン』の役のほうがもっと気の毒。今回のほうが、ましです。

Well, lately I read The Horse Whisperer in a Penguin Readers book. It was very good, which made me watch the movie directed and played by Robert Redford. I don't think the category "Love Story" is suitable, but I like the side of Love Story of this story, so I take it.

Do you know about Penguin Readers? It's one of graded reader books series. Do you know about them? They are books for those whose native language isn't English. The books are "graded," and the lower graded books are written in plainer English. The purpose of reading those books is to read a lot without a dictionary or translating. It is said that reading a lot of plain English books is important. So you should choose the best grade that fits your English level.

Well, I'm not a sales rep of the publishers! I've read about ten graded readers books. Some of them are not published by Penguin Books, but I like Penguin Readers series the best. Their stories are interesting.

OK. I'll talk about The Horse Whisperer.
There is a family in New York. A mother, a father and their twelve-year-old daughter, Grace. Her mother, Annie, is the chief editor of a famous magagine, and she is very busy. She doesn't have so much time to talk with her daughter, and their relationship isn't well lately.

The mother and daughter ride horses. One day Grace was riding her horse Pilgrim in the mountain covered with snow. They are with their friend and her horse. Then, they have an accident with a truck. Grace is terribly injured and has to have her one leg cut off. Her friend and the horse died. And Pilgrim, also so much injured, goes mad. He becomes not to trust anybody.

Grace's body gets well, but her mind doesn't. One day she goes to see Pilgrim, and she was so shocked to see Pilgrim mad and violent. She blames herself, and suffered a lot.

Annie wants to help her daughter, and Pilgrim, too. Their suffer is connected. On a magagine, Annie finds that there are people called Horse Whisperer, who can understand horses' feeling. She contacted the man on the magagine, Tom Booker. He turns down. He already closed his horse clinic and went back to his hometown in Montana.

Annie, however, is a woman who does what she once decided. She decides everything around her. Her husband, Robert, opposes her idea, but she has already prepared everything. She takes a month off from her job, rent a place near Tom's house and drives Grace and Pilgrim there in order to ask Tom again to see the horse.

... That's the introduction of the story...
Most of the story line is the same between the movie and the book. Tom accepts Annie's request and tries to help not only the horse but also the mother and daughter. They are all suffered and connected. Pilgrim and Grace get better with the help of Tom, his brother's family and the nature of Montana. Annie and Grace talk to each other with their true feelings, and their relation gets well.

But actually the endings are different. I'm not sure but there may be some reasons. One of them may be that Tom's fate is very shocking in the book.

I, however, like the book much better than the movie. (The book I read is the one from Penguin Readers, and it is just retold in plain English and it has the same story as the original one.)

I think that the great nature of Montana and the beauty of horses are focused on in the movie. I'm sure they are beautiful. But ... I'm not satisfied with the description of the love between Tom and Annie. Especially, Annie is NOT attracitve at all in the movie!

The actress ... Kristin Scott Thomas ... the beautiful woman in The English Patient, right? I was disappointed when I saw her in The Horse Whisperer.

And, Tom Booker. Tom is the man who would be loved by everybody, especially women. Masculine but tender, lovable man with a lot of wit. I think the role suits Robert Redford, too old, though. (Maybe this role is a little similar to his role in Spy Game. The spy with a lot of wit, too. The role is cool, too!)

But .... In the book, Tom loves at the first sight with Annie. Tom falls in love partly because of her brave, decisive act (driving across 7 states all by herself to see him). He loves such a woman. It takes some time for them to know they love each other. Tom always talk to himself, "Don't fall in love with her. She is other man's wife," and suffer, but he can't stop thinking about her and talking to her, which makes him more lovable ...

Such descriptions are lacking in the movie. It seems that Annie first falls in love with Tom. Annie isn't attractive at all in the movie, so maybe that's why ...

Well, of course, the main theme of the story is the trust between horses and human! Tom is like an icon of it. He always gives his full "gift of trust" to horses. Both of the movie and the book have the scenes which show that.

One in the movie is that Tom waits for Pilgrim to come back to him voluntarily. Tom just waits for long hours in a green field. The sun is setting, and finally Pilgrim walks to him and they go back home together. The scene is beautiful.

One in the book is ... of course there are many scenes Tom shows his trust to horses, but the one is really ... Tom-like. I have no words to explain the scene. His existence ... is too shiny.

A song goes together too much with this story in my head. The song is "Burning With Optimism's Flames" by XTC, a British band. I don't know why. While I read the book, I was always listening to the album "Black Sea." Tom's shine and the Flames of the song might go together ...

I won't write about the ending of the story. I'm not sure which one you should first take, the movie or the book.

The original book is too difficult for me to read yet, but I want to read it some day. (Actually I already bought it ...)

Oh, I have one more thing to write. Robert, Annie's husband, the man whose wife falls in love with some other man ... The role is played by Sam Neill! Hmmm, such a role seems to suit him. His role in The Piano is a lot more pityful. This time is better.

を、英語と日本語で、一所懸命書いたのですが、

「確認」ボタンを押したら、書いたものがすべてふっとびました。

おそらく、「本文」と「本文（続き）」を別サイズのフォントにしたのがいけないのかな。

これはトラブルのもとみたいなのでやめましょう。

（でも、この記事でやってみたら成功しているじゃないか。。。（怒）（怒）（怒）（怒））

英語のフォントサイズは「普通」だと、ちょっと小さすぎるんですよね。。。

でも、日本語は「大」では大きい。。。

以前の記事では成功しているので、メモ帳で書いてからコピーペーストすることにします。。。久しぶりに書いたから、そのトラブルのことを忘れていたよ。

I wrote about Billy Elliot(2000) very hard, but when I pressed the "check"(?) button, what I had wrote vanished.

I don't know why... but maybe that's because the fonts. I wrote Japanese in a standard font, and English in a large font. Maybe they can't go together.

(But I tried this entry in the same way and it worked... >:-<)

The standard font is too small for English, and the larger one is too large for Japanese.
Anyway, I'll use the "notepad" from next time (actually this time). I think I had a similar trouble before, but I forgot it. I haven't written here for long.

Anyway, Cocolog! I hate you!!

このブログでは英語の文章を先においてきましたが（それから日本語）、日本語を先におこうと思います。

なぜかというと、、、笑えるからです。このブログは１ヶ月以上アクセスがないんです。私はもう一つブログを持っていますが、さすがにそれはないです。　私のもう一つのブログが人気があるといっているわけではないんです。（実のところ、全く不人気）　どんなにそのブログがつまらなくても、誰かは訪れます。というのもたくさんのサーチエンジンがあり、さまざまな種類の検索条件を使うことができるからです。

私は少し努力もしました。映画サイトにトラックバックを送りました。確かにこのブログで私が書いた映画はそんなに人気でも新しくもないが…。

とにかく、そんなわけで、これは英語を各記事（ブログ記事を英語でarticleでよいの？）で最初においているからだと考えます。（強引？（笑））

（もしかすると純粋にこのブログがつまんないからかも…（泣）。今、このブログに固有の？キーワードをグーグルに入れたら、一応結果に出てきました。）

今後日本語を頭に置きます。でも英語を先に書き、んで和訳をその上に書きます。このブログを始めたのは英語を上達させるためなので。

でもおもしろいことには、日本語訳を書いていて、私は自分の英語が直接的すぎて、乱暴で、説明に欠けていることに気づきます。訳を書きながら、英語を直しています。やはり訳すのは重要なのかもしれません。

よし、映画について話しましょう。アメリカフィルムインスティテュートというところの最新のベストムービー100のニュースを読みました。「市民ケーン」が１位。私は見たことありません。実はオーソンウェルズの映画見たことありません。いくつか古くて有名な映画は見ましたが、ほかの映画を見る気になるほどには面白くなかったです。でもこの手のニュースはその気にさせますね。

I've put English sentences first in this blog (and then Japanese), but I think I'll put Japanese first.

Because it's ... funny. This blog has no access for more than a month! I have one more blog, but I've never suffered such a thing with it. I don't mean to say my other blog is popular. (In fact, not popular at all.) I think no matter how dull a blog is, somebody would be visiting it because there're so many search engines which allow us to use various kinds of search conditions.

I made some efforts. I sent track backs to a few movie sites. It's true that the movies I wrote about in this blog are ... not so popular or new...

Anyway, so, I think that's because I put English first in each article. (Maybe forceful? thinking :-) )

(Maybe that's purely because this blog isn't fun... :-< Just now I put some unique keywords of this blog to Google, and then I found this blog in Google's search results.)

I'll put Japanese first from now on. But I write English first, and then write the translation in Japanese above it. The reason why I started this blog is because I want to improve my English.

But it is interesting that in writing the translation, I find my English is too direct, rough, and lacking in explanations. Now I'm correcting my English while writing the translation. Translating may be still important for English learners.

Well, let's talk about movies. I read the news about the latest 100 Greatest Movies of All Time by American Film Institute. "Citizen Kane" got the first prize. I've never seen it before. In fact, I've never seen any Orson Welles' movies. I watched some old, famous movies, but old movies were not interesting enough to encourage me to watch other old ones. But this kind of news inspires us to do so.

Hello, everyone. I've been thinking of organizing my movie brochures for a long time.... They are packed in a shelf at home. They occupy only one shelf board, so not so many brochures are there. I'm not sure but maybe 150 or so...

By the way, it occured to me that I watched "Love Go Go" at a small movie theater. Its brochure was yellow and stood out in that shelf. It was easy for me to find it. So let's talk about that.

But actually, the movie is from Taiwan. So it won't help your English study. If you are a native English speaker, I'm not sure you can enjoy the movie in English.... Sorry.

I'll try to give phonetic equivalents to their name.

There are many funny people in the movie, but it is basically about love. Three stories go at the same time.

The first lead character is a dowdy man, Achen, working in a bakery. He meets a beautiful woman, a customer of the bakery, and falls in love. Actually, they are childhood friends, but she, Leefa, doesn't recognize him. She has an affair with a married man, and is suffering. Achen try to encourage her in various kinds of way, for example, a lemon pie he bakes. She loves it so much. And ...

The second one is a young and fat lady, Lily, who is working as a typist. She is always dreaming a dream lover, but has a sweet tooth. She is Achen's neighbor, and always eats a lot of sweets he brings.... One day she finds a beeper on the street. It often beeps, and she enjoys the beeps imagining they are from her dream lover... But she becomes unsatisfied with it, and she starts to leave messages on the caller's answering machine. And ....

The third one is a young salesman, Ason, who sells goods to drive off molesters. But he is too kind for a salesman. He always visits a shop for sales only to be a customer and to sell nothing. One day he visits a beauty parlor and meets Leefa. When Leefa starts to cut his hair, a woman comes into furiously. She is Leefa's affair's wife! And ....

Wow. I didn't think I would write so much. It took me so much time again. I like the first episode best. The actor was really great. I was surprised to know that this is his first career as an actor. He won a prize for this movie in Taiwan. The woman in the second also won a prize.

This movie is not so big one, but I think it will encourage you when you are depressed. So I categorize it into "Make you happy." If you have a chance to see it, give it a try.

一人目の主人公は、さえない男アシェンで、パン屋で働いています。彼は、美しい女性、そのパン屋の客、に出会い、恋に落ちます。実は、彼らは子どものときの友達なのですが、彼女、リーファは、彼に気づきません。彼女は既婚男性と不倫しており、苦しんでいました。アシェンはいろんな方法で彼女を元気付けようとします。たとえば、彼が焼くレモンパイ。彼女はそれが大好きなのです。そして…。

二人目の主人公は若くて太っちょの女性、リリーで、タイピストとして働いています。彼女はいつもすてきな恋人を夢見ていますが、甘いものに目がありません。彼女はアシェンのご近所さんで、いつも彼が持ってくる甘いものを大量に食べてしまいます…。ある日、彼女は道でポケベルを拾います。それはしばしば鳴り、彼女は夢の恋人からの呼び出しを空想してはその音を楽しんでいました。しかしそれに飽き足らず、その呼び出し人の留守電にメッセージを残すようになります。そして…。

うわ。こんなに書くつもりなかったのに。またすごい時間がかかってしまいました。私は最初のエピソードが一番好きです。俳優さんがとても良かった。俳優としての彼の初仕事だと知ったときは、驚きました。彼はこの映画で、台湾で賞をもらいました。二番目のエピソードの女性も賞をもらいました。

この映画は、そんなすごい一本というわけではないけれど、落ち込んでいるときには元気になれると思います。それで、この映画を「楽しくしてくれる一本」に分類しました。機会があったら、見てみてください。

Hello, everyone.

Now I think I'm going to write ramdomly about the movies I have ever watched.

I love to go to the movies. Of course it costs a lot especially in Japan, but it is worth. I can concentrate and be moved much more at a movie theater than at home.

Though I went to movie theaters so many times, it is still difficult to choose a nice seat in many ways.

Popcorn smell, (mainly) a man snoring, a child kicking the back of my seat, bla bla bla. I really hope they stop selling popcorn at theaters. I don't want to smell popcorn watching movies like "Letters from Iwo Jima."

Lately there is a slope in many theaters so that people can see the screen well. It is very nice.

I have a little ashamed story about myself. When I was a student, I went to the movie with my friends. A very tall man sat in front of me. I couldn't see the screen well because of his head. Before the movie start, I said to the man, "I'm sorry but please lower your head so that I can see the screen." He was very nice person. He accepted my request.

But it was not enough. Oh, no! I asked him again! But he was still nice and tried to do that. Then his wife sitting next to him said angrily, "He can't help it! He's tall!" She was a nice wife!

To make an excuse, I was very looking forward to watch the movie. I still remember the title, "Frankie & Johnny." I don't know why I was so excited about it. It's a love story of middle aged adult, starring Al Pacino and Michelle Pfeiffer. Maybe I liked Al Pacino at that time. The movie was not so good as I expected, but I enjoyed it.

Anyway, I was tired of writing English today. It took me a lot of time again. I'm sad.

(BTW, I wrote "please lower your head," to express what I said to the man. But first I wrote "please sit back more." I'm not sure how exactly to say that in English, but I think the latter seems wrong.)

さてわたしは、今まで見てきた映画についてランダムに書いていこうと思っています。

わたしは映画を見に行くのが好きです。もちろんお金はかかります。特に日本では。でも、その価値はあります。家より映画館のほうが集中できるし、感動も深いからです。

何度も映画館に行きましたが、良い席を選ぶのはいろんな意味で今も難しいです。

ポップコーンの匂い、いびきをかく（主に）男性、私のシートの背中を蹴る子ども、などなど。本当に、映画館でポップコーンを売るのはやめてほしいです。「硫黄島からの手紙」を見ながら、ポップコーンの匂いをかぎたくない。

最近は多くの映画館で傾斜がついて、スクリーンがよく見えるようになりました。とてもよいことです。

ちょっと恥ずかしい話があります。学生のとき、友達と映画に行きました。とても背の高い男性が私の前に座りました。彼の頭のせいで、スクリーンがよく見えませんでした。映画が始まる前に、私はかれに言いました。「すいませんがもっと深く座ってください」　彼はとてもいい人で、私の頼みを聞いてくれました。

しかし、それは十分ではありませんでした。なんと、私は彼に再度頼みました。でも彼はやはりいい人で、もっと深く座るよう努力してくれました。すると彼の隣に座っていた奥さんが、「しょうがないじゃないねぇ、背が高いんだから！」　いい奥さんですね！

言い訳をすると、私はその映画を見るのをとても楽しみにしていたのです。まだタイトルを覚えています。「恋のためらい　フランキーとジョニー」　なんでそんなに期待していたのかはわかりません。中年の恋愛もので、アル・パチーノとミッシェル・ファイファーが出ていました。もしかするとその頃ちょっとアル･パチーノが好きだったのかもしれません。期待したほどはよくなかったですが、映画は楽しみました。

はい、今日はもう英語を書くのに疲れました。また時間がかかりました。悲しい。

Hello, everyone. I am Struggling Bear. It's my screen name, of course.I searched the name by Yahoo! and it seemed to be used by nobody.

I will be trying to write smtg in English in this blog, but my sentences may be stiff(?) because I write too grammatically.

The reason why I start this blog is because I have to improve my English right now, because of my job. My boss transfered me to such a section just because my TOOOEIC score was high. I didn't have any test for the transfer. It is common that TOOOEIC score isn't reliable. What a irresponsible boss!
(I put extra "O"s to the original name of the test because the name can invite annoying trackbacks...

Moreover, it was three years ago that I took the score and it was just dumb luck! I'm sure I couldn't get the score now...

Anyway, that's because why I started this blog.I took too much time to write this today... I am sad and anxious about my job...

こんにちは　みなさん。もがくくまです。ハンドルネームです。ヤフー検索で使われてなかったので。

このブログで英語でなんか書いていきます。私の文章は硬いかもしれません、文法にのっとって書きすぎて。

ブログを始めた理由は、すぐに私の英語力を何とかしないといけなくなったことです仕事関係で。とーいっくの点数がいいというだけの理由で、上司が私をそんな部署に移してしまったのです。異動のためのテストはありませんでした。とーいっくの点が当てにならないことは常識なのに。無責任だなぁ。（とーいっくテストの名前をそのまま出すと、いやなトラックバックを招くので、Oを足しています）
それに、その点をとったのは３年も前です。しかもまぐれです。今じゃ取れません。

とにかくそんなわけでBlog始めました。今日は書くのにとても時間が掛かってしまい、悲しいし仕事不安…。
